Community partnerships are the cornerstone to what we do. (You might say Partnerships is our name.) We know that just as it takes a village to raise a child, it takes meaningful partnerships to build a village.
For over a decade, Piers Partners has been creating connections within the Central and South Okanagan to support our growing community. Collaborating with partners such as the Ministry of Social Development, Maximus Canada Employment Services, the YMCA of Okanagan, and other private businesses and service providers, we work together to empower our neighbours.
Whether someone suffers from a volatile family history or they have encountered a temporary bump in the road, the stress of instability gets tangled up in all areas of life. We all have the same basic needs, but when even one of those areas isn’t being met, it can cloud the big picture and have a major impact on our overall quality of life. A healthy and happy community begins with addressing the core needs of its members.
Community Partnerships Transform Lives
By partnering up with others to offer services and resources such as life skills development, employment opportunities, housing solutions, and even stress management techniques, we are able to help our community members take a productive step into a brighter direction.
Although we may all share this same stretch of Okanagan beauty, each of us arrived here on a different path. Challenges and opportunities often present themselves in uneven measure. Our doubts can keep us in a holding pattern of worry and fear, while our hopes can liberate and inspire us to new heights. It’s these unique life experiences that shape our perspectives about the world around us.
Meaningful community partnerships have a way of intersecting across all walks of life, connecting our individual pathways so no one needs to travel their journey alone. Our sense of self worth is expanded when we feel accepted, supported and valued by our village. The more we build each other up, the stronger our community becomes. We are grateful for our partnerships that help us build a better British Columbia together.
